Cytoplasm

Cytoplasm is a collective term that includes both the cytosol and the organelles within. It consists mostly of water, but is nonetheless accountable for protein synthesis and degradation.

Immunofluorescent staining

The immunofluorescent staining of the cytoplasm encompasses the whole cell but the nucleus. The staining can vary from smooth to granular, and is often stronger close to the nucleus.
