AMACR - Marker for prostate cancer

The AMACR gene encodes for the enzyme alpha-methylacyl-CoA racemase, which is an enzyme that is expressed by various human tissues by most strongly in kidney. AMACR is widely used as a biomarker for prostate cancer since AMACR is over-expressed in prostate cancer compared to normal prostate.

Show AMACR in the protein atlas.
